I need to know ALL of the steps i need to take in order to turn a winxp comp into a partially dedicated proxy server. (i need to be able to boot windows from time to time) and if you could include links to distros and such, thanks

So, does this mean that you wish to run the Proxy server via Windows OS or Linux. Sounds like you want to run a linux proxy...but it's up to you, you can do either OS.

What are you going to use the proxy server for? Filtering URL? Share internet? You can turn an XP machine into a proxy server by running any proxy software, my best is EzProxy.
