Networking ? Wireless internet?

I know nothing about networking so bare with me...

What do I need to hook 2+ computers to share the internet, that are in seperate rooms far away and don't have phone sockets in them? Without using an internet extension lead thingy.

Phone sockets?

Well there are phone 'sockets' called RJ-11 jacks, for modems, in the back of some computers. There are also ethernet ports, called RJ-45 jacks to hook up your modern internet.

So if you want to really use them to get to the internet you should use RJ-45. These hook up into a router (you'd want wireless in your case, so you don't have to run wires everywhere), and then you can hook up as many wireless/wired devices as you want. Put the rourter next to one computer so you can actually hardwire it, and you can wirelessly connect the other with an adapter that you just slip into the PCI slots or a USB port.
