If you are on a unix system you might have a look at EtherApe - http://etherape.sourceforge.net/ It's open source (free), but be aware it's a beta version at this point. I'm not sure if it's capable of "bandwidth" monitoring or not - I don't use it. A quick search on google for "Network Monitor free" brought up these links as well as a few more: Network Monitor 1.0 http://www.bysoft.com/ PRTG Traffic Grapher http://www.paessler.com/prtg/?banner=PAECOM_SEO There weren't too many "free" ones unfortunately.
