i read in the NETOPIA 3347 something about VPN, so i first will try to figure it out from there.

Another question: to set a VPN there's always need a hardware like those you mentioned?

Not necessarily but is typically the most secure to use a stand-alone VPN solution rather than depending on Windows setup your VPN stuff. I haven't done a lot of work with software VPNs so I can't help you out much...
