linksys mixed with another brand?

I currently have a linksys 802.11g wireless router and several linksys wireless adapters. My signal is not too strong through my home so I want to increase its strength. Here's my dilemma: One of my computers is currently wired into the wireless router, because they're right next to each other. If I move the router to a more central location, I would have to buy another wireless adapter for that computer. Or, I could buy a wireless access point. However, both linksys products seem to cost about the same.

I recently noticed that there are some wireless access points that are cheaper than the linksys'. Can I use a different brand for the wireless access point, and mix the hardware?

Don't see why you couldn't mix the brands. Hardware of any kind is made to a certain specification, so it should work the same way as other brands of hardware do.

As long as it is wifi certified(802.11b or 802.11g) it will most likely work.
