Internet access

In my house theres 3 computers, 2 of which are running off of the same cable box. The other one is on the other side of the house and I'm wanting it to have internet access as well.

My question is instead of running a huge ass ethernet cable across my house, could I just buy another cable modem box and hook it up in the room?

most likely, im not sure but you prolly can.. problem with that is how much would it cost to get a new box etc
and u can run it under the floor and in walls.... if u wanna try

no but you could buy a wireless router and a wireless adapter. You could still wire the 2 pcs to the router and add the third with the wireless adapter

I dont think I understand the wireless thing, could you explain it to me

you buy a wireless router and set it up for inet access. The router should have lan ports on it so you can connect the two pcs that are connected now to the lan ports with patch cables.

the third pc will need a wireless network card to connect to the wireless router for network & inet access....unless you feel like running a cable to it.
