Radmin is a full version trial software for 30 days. Radmin server must be installed on your friend computer and the client must be installed on your computer (You can choose to install both on each machine if you wish to control each other). The client will be use by you to connect to your buddy computer which has the server installed. You must use the ISP IP which is the public IP address that everyone over the internet sees him as. He can get it by going to www.whatismyip.com and he must also disable or permit his firewall and AV so that it will not interfere.

If he is behind a router, he must port forward the port 4899 to the private ip address of his computer for instance if it was 192.168.1.100 that has the server running. Now he must run the setting for remote adminsitrator server and configure a password or use NT security (you have to have some form of password or Radmin won't allow you to continue). He also has other option like IP filter which makes a list of computer IP that can connect and also logging can be enable.

Now you must go to your start menu/program file and run remote adminsitrator viewer (which is the client) and click connection/new and enter his public IP that he got from www.whatismyip.com and click ok. You can go to the propertie afterward of the icon on the viewer and set option like resolution bits and names. Right click on the icon of the computer and select full control and you will be prompte with a password box or NT security prompt depending how the server was configured.
