File Transfer PC>Laptop

Hey, I recently got a laptop and I need to transfer alot of files from my PC to my laptop for college.

Whats a cheap way to do this? A cable or what? Could I put an Ethernet cable to my laptop and PC and do this, maybe?

You can use a crossover cable. Or you can get one of these USB cables that are made just for this task.

Regular Ethernet cable, maybe. Some computer network chips have auto switching to crossover. Crossover cable is the sure bet.
