Is there any way one can disable a network firewall. I've been using Network Security Client which is either AG 200 is SSG (given by the ISP to log on). The client can connect to the internet only when the firewall is on and whence, you have to enable the client into 'running' mode. Then it asks for a user name and password.
I cannot use p2ps like Ares and Limewire, it assumes i have a proxy connection.
Using online probing software, I was given one of the three reasons:
1. You are behind a proxy connection.
2. There is some NAT which is makes it some kinda proxy server.
3. There is no firewall.(!)

Please help me by giving some suggestions so that i can log on without enabling the firewall while I search for some alternatives.

If I understand you correctly, you can only access teh internet through a client application porvided by your ISP? I would assume, then, that the ISP is the proxy/firewall.
