I am wondering how I can connect 2 wireless routers together wirelessly. I have my internet connection coming into a router in my basement (wireless router), and woudl like to have another wireless router on my second floor that will receive the signal from the first one and pass it on to the computers plugged into it's attached switch. Can someone give me advice here or help me out? I know the second router needs to be essentially configured as a WAP, with dhcp turned off and assigned a static IP that puts it on the network. What else do I need to configure, because this hasn't worked so far. Thanks!

Connecting Two Wireless Routers

Here is a site that may help. The site shows two wireless routers part of the network and they are identical routers.

This site is the actual wireless router and you can download the manual which should have the information on how to accomplish what you are trying to do.

Even though you may not have this brand the ideas should be identical.

i have a belkin wireless router in my office and want to know if i can use my other router/access point (linksys) to use the internet signal from the belkin to plug a ethernet cable into the linksys and be connected

basically, i want to take the wireless signal with the linksys and make it a wired signal.

can i do this and if so can someone help me out with the details.

plugging it into the switch wont work. you can get on the internet by accessing the AP wirelessly. since you turned off the DHCP and nat features, it is logical the router wont work that way...
