Computers not showing in my network places.

I have the problem of not all the computers showing in my network places. I have to restart the server befreo they'll show sometimes. ANy idea on why they suddenly stop showing up? Usually only one or two will show out of the 50+.

Are you all in a custom "named" workgroup? Like : MYPAD or something like that?

No, it's the normal one. The same one I go to all the time to see them all. Under microsoft windows network then my domain.

Are all machines running the same OS?


What kind server OS and setup are you running?

Enable netbios over tcp/ip and do a nbtstat -R on all the computer.

All the machines are running XP SP2. The servers are all Server 03 or 2k.
