Till recently it worked fine, along with the laptop i was using. but lately i could not access internet on my computer even though laptop works fine with wireless. I tried connecting modem directly to my cpu, and it works fine. It doesn't work if connect router to my computer. I did ipconfig and ip address is fine 192.168.x.1. Also it shows correc default gateway. i also pinged with default gateway and its fine. But it still doesn't wor. it gives cannot find server error. what else i need to check to make my router ecognise my computer

Any help will be appreciated

Thanks

Your router is assigning addresses in the 192.168.X.1 range, or 192.168.1.X range??

verify subnet masks....
If it is 192.168.X.1 - subnet mask should be 255.255.0.0
If it is 192.168.1.X - subnet mask should be 255.255.255.0

Can you post up the IP & subnet mask for the following?
&nbsp&nbsp&nbspRouter
&nbsp&nbsp&nbspPC
&nbsp&nbsp&nbsplaptop

Also, as Csamuels asked above, try this:
open a command prompt (START > RUN > type 'CMD')

&nbsp&nbsp&nbspping yahoo.com
&nbsp&nbsp&nbspping 66.94.234.13
&nbsp&nbsp&nbspping 216.109.112.135

run those 3 pings, and post the results.
