I have a couple questions about setting up my printer so that i can share it on one or more computers. I have a laptop and a desktop and they both run XP Home edition. The printer i want to share is a Canon PIXMA ip1500 and is connected to my desktop via usb. I have enabled file and print sharing and I still cant get it to work at all.
I have enable printer sharing on the printer that i want to share. I have both computers under the same workgroup name but it wont find the printer at all. I know that this is supposed to be easy but i have spent the last day trying to get this to work and i have had no luck at all. Any help or step by step instructions on this problem would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.
P.S. Do you have to leave the computer the printer is connected to on in order to print from my laptop?
