Which Cable!

I have 2 computers and i plan to connect them with a router the only thing is i dont know which cables i need, crossover or striaght through cable. I know the difference is the wires order is differnet but in which situation do i need each cable,

straight cable,
crossover is when you connect 2 pc's directly to eachother

- Switch to Router
- Switch to PC or Server
- Hub to PC or Server
- Router to PC or Server
Crossover
- Switch to Switch
- Switch to Hub
- Hub to Hub
- Router to Router
- PC to PC
