"behind Router"

im using a linksys network adapter to connect to my other computer. is the computer with the adapter considered "behind a router" or the one with the router? what exactly does behind a router mean?

From what it sounds like, Both are infact behind the router.... If you plug your machines into the router, they are infact "behind" the router.... If you connect your machine directly into the modem then you are NOT behind a router.
