Inside your mind...
Okay so heres the deal, my father has a HP laptop that had its in built networking card die, to replace it i got my father this:

Amazon.com: Edimax EW-7811Un 150Mbps 11n Wi-Fi USB Adapter, Nano Size Lets You Plug it and Forget it, Ideal for Raspberry Pi, Supports Windows, Mac OS, Linux: Computers & Accessories

A device that claims linuix and windows support.
The drivers installed fine in windows 10 but the device utterly fails in linux, and I tried everything, manually adding the drivers does nothing and he is so mad that he may give linux up.
My father is not as aware of things such as adware as i am, i gave him linux on the side for security but thats now in jeopardy.
Curreently i am trying out Manjaro 64bit the latest version on it, in the vain hope of a AUR package of some sort.

Can you give more information.

What was the network card. Ethernet or wireless.
What is the Model of the laptop.
What OS are you using?

Is the OS Debian based?
What release OS are you running?
Have you tried any repository archives for the Drivers. Or the official Web Site?
