installing wusb54g

i have puppy linux and i dont know how to install my driver for my wusb54g v.4 linksys wireless usb net card... i have a driver but its for windows... how do i do it?

You need Ndiswrapper

Read the documentation thoroughly before you try to install and run it, because it is not that easy to use, and can be very picky. Have you checked to see if there's a Linux native driver out there for it, or if the kernel will support it natively?

i've tried it and it doesn't work.. and i dont know how to install ndiswrapper.. i put it on a pendrive and it was zipped.. i went to linux and it had like 25 files... and i dont know wut to do..

You have to compile it. Open a terminal, cd to that directory, wherever it is, then run ./compile

If it doesn't stop with an Error, then run make && make install as root.

ok im a nood to linux.. please have a step by step.. i dont know how to compile or open a terminal, or cd to that directory

and i dont know how to see wut version kernal i have..

Go to the Ubuntu menu, and select the choice that starts with "Run...". Type in xterm and hit run. Once xterm is open, type cd <name of directory> and hit enter. Then run ./configure and if everything goes well, run make && make install

To find out your kernel version, run uname -r

where is the ubuntu menu? i know how to open a terminal if thats what u want me to do. btw i have ubuntu 5.10

Ubuntu Menu is the top bar. What he means is the Applications menu.
Look at the top left.
If you want a run box, you can press alt+F2
You can also go to: Applications -> Accessories -> Terminal

ok so wuts the code or wut ever if the file is in my home folder? is it like cd/home or wut?
