Very good news for the IT industry. Here are some survey results from Dice:

Biggest thing I saw that was interesting was the jump in salary when you get experience. Under 1 year you net 40k but after 6 years you average 70k.

We had a guy from Southern New Hampshire Medical Center come by and talk to our internship/capstone class and he was talking about how to get into the industry and specifically his group of PC people and he was saying that his level 2 tech people (they outsource their level 1 to somewhere else in the US) make around 40k a year, but then once they move up into either like level 3 support or server/networking they make from 70k-120k+ so that sounds about right. Pay your dues on the low end and then rake in the big bucks!!!
