need help with parental controls

Okay...my girlfriend got a Ps2 awhile back for christmas. Of course..with all things-her parents cheaped out on it and got it used. Didn't notice anything wrong till about 2-3 weeks ago when she tried to watch a dvd on it. She couldn't watch it because the previous owners had the parental password set. Is there anyway to get rid of this?

do a google search on this. it was real simple for me to reset the password on my old ps2. i think you had to hold down certan buttons while pressing another, something like that.

Might be that on the PS2 but on the PS3 and Wii you need to call a hotline number and they reset it for you.

i googled it and got a ton of mixed reviews...tons of people said you have to enter the code "7444" , some more said you have to do that while on certain screens holding certain buttons , and others said it doesn't work at all.... i'll try it and come back

I know on my ps2 there was always a password required but it was "0000".
