USB Hard drives and installing games

Okay... I had an idea a while ago. My dad uses a USB HD for his laptop.. and gets about an extra 300 gigs. I'm wondering if it'd be possible to do the same with my X360, and, somehow install games direct from the discs onto the drive.
Considering, 20 GB is enough to store about .. one game. Or, it'd be nice to be able to backup my saves, y'know?

Anyone know if something like this might be possible?

Nope, only the internal HDD can be used for saving stuff. External drives are only for media playback. I hate it too, but it was Microsoft's dumb idea, so go blame them.

I think he was refereeing to the fact that it was his first EVER post.
