Wireless Controller Problem

I am currently trying to play Call of Duty: World at War on the PC with an Xbox 360 controller I bought that comes with a wireless connector so that it works with the PC. I downloaded the Drivers and everything but I can't seem to figure out why it won't let me use the controller. Do you know what I'm doing wrong, Do I have to do something in the options menu to make it work?

I haven't got CoD5 but perhaps you need to change the controls from keyboard+mouse to controller?

Have you got the wireless controller working in any other games?

I have no other games to try it on, But it says it is ready to use, But do you have any idea how to change the controls?

Don't think the game actually supports the 360 controller even though it says it does.

I suppose you could try using a program like joy2key to set it up the hard way but I'm not sure if you would be able to get the move and look commands right with the thumbsticks.

What about Call of Duty 4? Is that supported?

It's a wireless controller you are using with the wireless receiver for widows, correct? If so have you synced the controller to the wireless adapter? Also make sure the controller is on before you launch the game. Some games require this but not all.
