Quake IV: PC Gamer Review

I just read the PC Gamer review for Quake IV and was totally disappointed. A game that I thought was going to be an intense squad-based shooter with advanced AI and unbeatable sci-fi theme and plot seems no more than a sub-par continuation of QuakeII.
PC Gamer gave it 70%, citing a poor plot, tired game play, no new additions to the series, the game's short length (10 hours) and a basic lack of inspiration all around.
I had pretty high hopes for this game but it seems that for once id and Raven didn't deliver the quality that they usually do.

Yea i just read the review. I was also disappointed. I was expecting it to be what you said - an intense squad based shooter with all out battles across huge battlefields. it will still sell many copies though.

Hopefully Enemy Territory: Quake Wars will be better

Stuff 'em. At the end of the day, the only opinion on a game that matters is your own. Look at Q3A; loved by some, loathed by others ...
