Ok so I need a little help on a budget build I am doing for my friend. He is on an extremely tight budget, but wants to do a bit of gaming, like HL2 mainly and SOME BF2.

Now he already has a case, CD drive, and hard drive. Here is what I thought would be decent on a tight budget:

AMD Sempron 64 3100+ 256K L2 Cache 800MHz FSB - $100.00
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16819104237

MSI K8N Neo-V NF3 250GB ATX Motherboard - $58.00
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16813130521

FSP Group 450W PSU w/ Dual 12V - $49.99
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16817104954

Corsair ValueSelect PC3200 1GB RAM - $72.00
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16820145440

eVGA 6600GT 8x AGP 128MB GDDR3 - $129.00
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16814130220

Total: $408.99

Seems not bad to me, I could maybe even get it to go down to a 2800 and then just OC to 3100 speeds or past that.

Could anyone give any suggestions to this build? Any comments on the PSU? Looks pretty stable to me ^.^

Very reliable brand IMO. I heard that they produce parts for companies like PC P&C so that alone should say something about their reputation.

And he said he might consider getting an aftermarket HS for some OC'ing :)

Ok wow this is EXTREMELY gay, they managed to get rid of the 6600GT by eVGA in AGP version, of course...

that was a while ago. I think they stilll have leadtek's, msi's and a few others. Why not go pci-express? the 6600gt are cheaper that way.

better pse, better brand also. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?item=N82E16817153023

I recommend him getting an amd 64 3000, only 30 bucks more.

whats a PSE?

TT is by far not a better brand.

That PSU is also by far not better.

Stick with the forton.

If TT was good, I would reccomend them...

Allow me to point out why that specific forton is better then that Specific TT.

The forton has dual 12V rails @ 18 Amps each == 36 AMps total, while the TT only has 1 18 AMP 12V rail, the forton is also a little more efficient.
