Need Help For Installing Natural Selection!

I was hoping this would work. I do not own Half-Life, I just bought the original Counter-Strike when it was released separately. My friend says you can install it without HL, can anyone tell me how to do it? Like what folder to install it into? Someone please help, it looks like such a a killer game! I also want to try some other mods.
