HELP WITH DX

has anyone else ever had the problem where when you install warcraft 3 and the expasion (or any game for that matter) and it gives an error about direct x (ill post the exact error message when i get home and can see it)

i have tried reinstalling direct x 9 from the MS website, but warcraft 3 is still telling me that i have to have at least v8.1, and i have tried getting all of the updates from MS and then i tried uninstalling them and installing DX from the Warcraft CD, but i cant get it to come up, any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks!

One thing that might work is uninstalling your DX plugin, then running the WC3 setup and letting it install DX for you.

If I remember right its built into the install program.

it says "warcraft 3 requires direct x version 8.1 or better, direct x 8.1 or better not detected" or something like that, but neways, after i click ok, it tells me its not in my cd-rom, but i know its not my warcraft, cuz i have 2 copies of each and they have both worked in the recent past
