Battlefield 2 or Half life 2??

I say get both.

But seriously, BF2 has not yet being released but it looks very promising. Can't say much about that until I play it myself.

HL2 on the other hand is probably one of the best single player experiences in any game from any genre. IMO its not just a game, its an experience. If you enjoyed HL and its lore then you will probably have a blast with this one. And it comes bundled with a CS:Source which is nothing but the age old CS with updated physics and graphics engine. Its nothing very original or great but hey, ITS CS.The game is still available via Steam.

By the way DJ-CHRIS, are you a fan of Big Rigs - the most awesome game EVAR!

BF2 will probably have greater replay value, and last alot longer, but HL2 is MANDATORY for computer gamers.

Get HL2. PM me if you don't mind a used copy.

I don't understand why you think BF2 will have better replay value. Everything BF2 will have HL2 can soon create the same thing in it's mods? Am I correct technically? I feel with all of HL2 upcoming mods, you will have endless fun. I think both will be great. But HL2 is manditory, for everyone. And my 2cents just say get Hl2 first before anything, you don't have to enjoy the first one to liek the 2nd. They are different in many, many aspects.

am I the only person who prefers far cry to HL2? It's just a lot more action and I prefer the graphics on Far Cry even though the HL2 level where you drive the water buggy the whole time was amazing too.

Okay, here we go:

Without any mods, you have to agree that BF2 has to have greater replay value, and the game HAS to last longer: HL2 was a puny 16 hurs of my life (Thats including alot of screw off time), and the only time I really played afterwards was to sow friends cool levels (I started to play through again, but puttered out while going through the the storm pipes in the boat). I find it hard to beleive that BF2 could be anyworse in this aspect.

To be honest, I havn't looked at up coming mods, as I have no high speed internet, nor do I have any wish to run a 56K modem for 3 days to get a mod. And I asume that the mods will use the same gameplay and will not be extremely long themselves. I'm going to say that the mods will have the same play once, your done quality of HL2.

And yes, you are the only person who prefers FarCry over HL2.

also, what do you prefer? under-budget, short, multiplayer HL2 mods, or polished full games?

What i'm trying to say is that thwe majority of mods released are either weapon mods, or bad multiplayer mods. DoD, CS, Natural Selection, and The Specialists were the exceptions. I'd go for Battlefield 2 because the good multiplayer mods for HL2 won't come out anytime soon. and C'mon, in HL2 can you sneak up on a sniper, and surprise him by yelling out CLEAR!!! and shock him to death with your difibulator? Thats classic!
