Age of empires 2 question

I have this game loaded on my computer but forgot the disk at home. At lunch A co-worker and I battle each other and he has his disk. I copied the files from the disk onto my desk top and then burned those onto a CD. I am unable to use the burned CD to run my loaded copy. Is there any way to make this work without having my CD??? Please help by lunchtime Pacific time. Thanks

You need a patch to play with No-CD.

It's a write-protected disk. They're tricky to get around even if you honestly just want to back it up. I keep wanting to back it up because I've gone through 3 conquerors expansion disks and 2 Age of Kings disks...
