What are some PC games like Gauntlet and Hunter: The Reckoning?

1) I love hack and slash games like that. I'm planning to play on LAN with a few friends.

2) Other than that, what are some good Single-Player PC games that have a somewhat linear story? Examples of these games are Final Fantasy VII, VIII and X. They have a linear story, but at the same time its a fun game with cool characters.

3) Then after that, what are some good ONLINE games for free? I'm talking multiplayer games that several people would enjoy playing together as a team against players they dont know.

I heard Knight online is pretty decent.
