Software to record movies of what's happening on desktop?

Hey guys, I've seen several movies of people who are not using a video camera but rather have some sort of software that allows them to record movies of what they're doing on their desktop. Does anyone know of a good program that does this? Thanks.

Try Replay AV. I think it not only will record streaming video and audio off the web, but will also resord what you see or hear on your PC. Not free BTW.

HyperCam 2 is good and very simple... I havn't used Camtasia....I am sure it is awesome though

I have used Catasia and it is great. Used it to copy a few webisodes before. It is fun to use and simple to use as well.
