OK, the sound on my dads computer has gone strange. here is what i have done:
- tested SC in my brothers computer - works fine.
- tested speakers with my creative zen - the work fine.
when playing sound, there is intermittent crackly-ness over the top of the audio, but the audio is still vaguely audible.
i dont think it is speakers as when the crackling starts, if you pause and then unpause the music, it plays fine, and then maybe the crackling will come back fairly soon, or maybe it will not.
it does it with all audio including windows sounds, and music played off CDs, on several different players.
EDIT: it seems to have been fixed by reinstalling the drivers a 3rd time...
