need urgent help (literally urgent)

I need to know how to make a dvd as in

I have a digital video camera and i am about to record the video camera video onto my computer, from there i will need to put it on a dvd disk to be able to play on a dvd player

what is the format i need to record it as? mpeg mpeg2 wmv mp3 i dont know and any help is extremely good for me right now

if you put the mpeg2's on a dvd, any dvd player will play them
