Hello, I have a Sound blaster audigy SE sound card.
I just recently bought a new headset, and couldn't get the microphone to work in ventrilo.

So I was looking around in my sound settings and the SB Audigy Microphone is listed as 'currently unavailable' even though it is enabled. Does anyone know why this is? Because my mic won't work.

Thank, Tyler

Have you got the latest driver? Have you go tthe microphone in the front Mic jack or the back on with the sound card?

Yes, the sound card has the latest driver.

I'm in the back jack where the sound card is.
Because I'm using the sound card for my headphones so I'm trying to use the mic
jack for the Sound blaster Audigy.

Under Control Panel>Sound there is no option for the mic? Have you tried to use it within Windows itself just to test it out and not on Vent?

I'm stupid...

In my sound I had S/PDIF-In as my default recording device.
So I just made my microphone my default device and now it works.
I guess that means look at the most obvious solutions first.

Thanks For the help

It isn't stupidity. Sometimes we just overlook the obvious till someone asks. I do it almost daily. ;)
