copying cd to hard drive

I have Nero software bundled with my pc. If I use that software to copy audio CDs to my hard drive, do I play them back using the Nero software or can I use Windows Media Player?

I copied my first cd and thought everything went fine but then I couldn't find the files on my hard drive. I copied it again and did find them but then Windows said it could not play those files.

I have been looking for help on the web but suprisingly can't find a good website describing these issues.

Any ideas/information would be greatly appreciated.

There are lots of free programs to do this. Just google for CD to MP3 or audio to mp3 or something similar.

they are in the

C:\DOCUME~1\USER~1\LOCALS~1\Temp\

directory. in folder view you will have to uncheck the show the hidden files option.
