AMD64 X2 4400 497.00
DFI lanparty mobo 199.00
OCZ platinum 2 gigs 334.82
560WATT silverstone Power supply 137.99
eVGA 7800GTX Video card 459.00
2 10k rpm Raptor HDD's 207.00

Thats 1834.31. Doesnt have a case since thats something you will need to decide. Dont worry about the Nvidia/ATI conflict that goes on around here. Some people swear by each card. These are my suggestions for a 2k build. If you build one make sure to post it up here.

I say go with a 74gb raptor, AND a normal 250 gb or something. Thats like, 1

Raptor:

Normal:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16822144154

Thats only about $50 dollars more for 74% more space than 2 of those 36.7 raptors.

DFI UT NF4 SLI-DR
eVGA 7800GTX 512MB
2*1GB G.Skill
OCZ 600W powerstream
Opty 170
Thermaltake soprano or lian lan case
Any size sata II hdd

200 for mobo, 200 for ram, 700 for video card, 400 for processor, 200 for psu, 80 for case, approx. 100 for hdd

1880 dollars, leaves you to buy the Big Typhoon or CNPS9500 some AS5. Couple of more case fans. Or you caN even go with water cooling

i like pzero's suggestion i was going to say something similar. i probably would have reccomended OCZ ram though. if you want to channel more money into getting the best parts you can be sure to re-use parts that you can live with i.e. hdd and dvd-rom drives.
