So i bought a E6600 core 2 duo conroe....but im finding every board has only DDR2 ..i have 2gb of kingston hyperx ddr400. Do the duo's ONLY use DDR2 ? i did alot of research and comparing on what to buy, but that was one thing i didnt think of AFTER i bought everything.

Can anyone suggest a MB at $100 or less. NO ECS or PCCHIPS.

Yea C2Ds only use DDR2. I don't know much about boards, but the TF members here will.

not necessarily true, the memory support for Intel processors still relies on motherboards rather than the processor itself like AMD. that means if you can find a motherboard that has DDR and explicitly says that its supports C2D you're good to go :). sorry i can't help you there but i recall looking through Asus' boards the other day and seeing some if that helps. i think the model P5PE-VM has DDR and AGP but i wouldn't get that as it seems you are getting a new graphics card in which case you should go with pci-express (pci-e)
