Ok, I'm a gamer and I have a dec system, (2.8ghz p4, 512mb RAM, 100gb HD etc). A median system I guess. So when I bought it, I was mainly looking at the price, rather than what kind of specs it had, and unfortunately it didn't come with a AGP slot. So I had to buy a $80 128mb PCI video card, and ended up overclocking it to get fair graphics.
Well recently the card went craps on me; and I really want to upgrade. My only good option would be to get a new motherboard that works with the same stuff I have, and get a new video card. But I only have about $150, so that leaves me to get a pretty good mobo on ebay (like $30-40) and then I have about $100 to get a good agp card.
I've looked, and so far the best cards for my price range are:
Radeon 9800 series
Radeon 9700 series
Nvidia 5500
Nvidia 5600
Nvidia 5800
I also am taking into account that I want a card with atleast 128mb mem. I really dont want to buy a $90 card on ebay, but if thats what it's going to take to get good fps, then oh well. Any opinions?
