Not sure if this is the right forum, so sorry if it isn't.
I've got a new Dell Inspiron laptop with an Expresscard PCI slot, a new technology which isn't widely used in the UK. I've got a firewire soundcard I used for recording purposes on my old desktop, and my laptop would need a new expresscard firewire port for this to work. Basically, they're really expensive and unavailable in the UK.
Is it possible to connect my firewire soundcard to a USB adapter cord and plug it into a USB port on my laptop? Will it stil work or are they completely incompatible technologies?
Any help appreciated.
