M Magilla Baseband Member Messages 51 Aug 10, 2006 #7 I'm mezmerized over the same issue. I was going to go 939 and then I saw so much support for AM2. Please see this wiki http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Socket_M2 and tell me if you still feel the same way. It states that am2 will handle am3 cpu but not the other way around. When will am3 cpu come out? I"m also wondering what north bridge to go with. Light game mostly home video creation/editing and photo work. Lots of cpu load there. Still like am2 ?

aliasaid Fully Optimized Messages 2,400 Aug 10, 2006 #8 well we already knew all that... why would this be a bad thing? you build a good AM2 rig, few months later you decide you want to upgrade your cpu, boom exchange cpu's, you're done!
