they apear to have different strengths. same price basically, and im lookin for multitaskin: gaming/music/headset voice communication/otherstuff all at once with good quality. didnt know which specific spec(s) would be best for all that so was hopin yall could help since ur on that topic anyway. they both have digital decoders (which i need for my comming dsp500s ) so thats pros for both.

two BIG differences in soundcards. some depend on the processor (intergrated AND standalone). then the more expensive cards have there own processor built in. this makes it so the processor is free to do what it needs to, with minimal interuptions from the soundcard. it still USES the processor, but the brunt of the processing would be done by the sound card. basically sound card with own processor = faster games and better midi (usually)... course you're not worried about midi but if you want faster gaming, then go for it. look for a sound card with its own DSP (digital signal processor). example, but dont know much on this card. heard its good and heard the flip side, but it'll give you more of an idea what to look for:
