could be a combination of a few things: harddrive, psu, cpu , mobo, or ram, but bad ram when installing windows gives u a blue hardware protecton screen, or on some computers just plain restarts. if you have another pc available,(this is what i do when this happens to me) put the hdd in another pc, and install from that pc, but before it registers with microsoft, cancel it, and get to desktop, shut down, and put the hdd in the other pc and reboot, load the drivers, and then register windows(product activation..whatever)
