NTFS is not secure, there is no such thing as a secure filing system. its just more stable because it is less prone to file fragmentation, has compression, and disk qoutas.
NTFS IS more secure that FAT did you forget about
EFS Encryption. You can also remove administrators, users
and limit the ability to make changes to any files by the
Read, Write, Change attributes as well as setting the
file to Read Only.
But lets not get off the topic here is the link that describes the
advantages and disadvantages of the different file systems.
max volume size: 2TB / 2TB
max files on volume: nearly unlimited / nearly unlimited
max file size: limit only by volume size/ 4Gb
max file name length: up to 255 / up to 255
unicode file name: unicode character set/ system character set
file attribute: standard and custom/ standard set
compresion: yes / no
encrypsion: yes / no
object permision: yes / no
disk quota: ntfs5 / no
built in security: yes / no
recoverability: yes / no
disk space economy: max / average
foult tolerant: max / average
performance: low on small volume / high on small volume
high on large / low on large
Worked4me no NTFS is not secure, but it has more security features. thats what mike was trying to tell me when he got all politically correct you can just take ownership of everything if you have the right access permissions and EFS is not too hard to break.
