Using Partition Magic 8.0 and running Windows 98SE, I created another primary partition (as NTFS) and installed Windows XP. Windows 98SE was C: (active) and Windows XP was E: with my CD/DVD drives as F: and G:. I wanted Windows XP to be on D: so I changed the drive letter. PM warned me that I might not be able to boot up from it but I wanted to try it anyway. They were right. I tried to change it back to E: but couldn't. I can't do anything with the drive; I get an error message: "Partition Improperly Dismounted". PM user guide says to run "chkdsk /f" at A:, but that can't be possible since DOS can't read NTFS. In PM, I can browse the NTFS drive, but can't access anything. Any suggestions?

if you create the 2 pm floppies, it is possible to boot from the floppies and undo everything
