I have the Silicon Image SATAraid controller device (pretty sure it came with my A7N8X Deluxe-E mobo) in my devise manager and I think this is what is causing me to have to wait for my HDD detection at start up. Everytime I boot I have to wait for it to detect my Maxtor 160 gig SATA drive. I thought raid setups were only necissary if you had two HDD, which i dont. I was wondering if i could unstall this devise to improve boot times. Its not essential, but if I can not uninstall this controller could someone explain why i need it or what it does?

hi, i had the same problem with my ASUS P4C800-E-DX MOBO. Just go into BIOS setup and change the configuration so it isn't detecting RAID devices. You want it to detect IDE. I hated that when it happened to me. It was saying something about FastTrack 378 and made me so angry. Hope this helps ur boot up times.
