what RAM works best with DFI?

i think this CPU works, it should atleast.. but it says "AMD socket939 Athlon FX55+ & Athlon X2 CPU supported"

that mean the fx55 is on there, and there is 2 spots for additional CPU's, or im dumb lol.

list update:

DFI LANPARTY UT nF4 SLI-DR Expert Socket 939 NVIDIA nForce4 SLI AMD

eVGA 256-P2-N386 Geforce 6800GS 256MB 256-bit GDDR3

AMD Athlon 64 3200+ Venice 1GHz FSB 512KB L2 Cache Socket 939

what i have on my *new* list

Assummin it's all compatable, looks alright ta me. Though the case you selected is out of stock

Whats your max budget, it would be helpful to know.
If it were me, id get some different RAM. TCCD chips are nice, but arent necessary unless you are an extreme overclocker. Im getting 2gigs of G.skill RAM for $260.

If your buying it like tomorrow or the day after this is a pretty good deal, but the rebate only lasts until the 30th, although it probably will be back. The rebates been around for like a month or two in different forms.

You would also probably be fine with a non-expert version of the Lanparty Ultra-D for $130.

For your Hard drive you might as well get a SATAII with NCQ for only like $10 more.

If you can afford it, you should consider the 7800gt. An evga one runs about $320. Again your budget would be useful.

Also consider the AMD 64 3700 for $233. Its the next step up from the 3200.

Im assuming you have all the other stuff. eg. keyboard, mouse, monitor, Windows XP, etc.

Here is what I would build/should have built.

DFI mobo

AMD 3500+

VIDEO CARD 6800gs

OR if you can afford it

7800GTX

2 GIG of RAM

These would be what I would build if I were to rebuild my comp today. Total cost is $831 with the 6800gs or $1081 if you get the 7800gtx.

You can get cheaper RAM if you got 4x512mb dual channel sticks and you could probably save quite a bit if you got the value series and don't plan on overcloking at all.

Also for Case and Power supply I don't know very much about so I can't help you there.

i dont realy have a budget.. im just kinda picking things out i like and and saving, getting others to buy for me. but in total i guess no more then $1,500.

wait your budget is 1500 dollars and the rig on the first page is like 3000??!??!?! im confused

Subtotal: $1,061.48

were did you get that 3k from? oh, from my 1st post, dunno if u dident read it all or something, but that is a computer im basing mine off of. its the ultimate gaming machine for the show - attack of the show on G4.
