Say that a motherboard reccomends 3x 184-pin DIMM for DDR 400/333/266 (Max. 3GB), and I decide 133, will it still work or not?

yes it will still work. ddr memory is double pumped. meaning a 133mhz ram chips functions at 266, in easy terms

133 is sd ram, and it will not work with sd ram. It will say when you buy it that it is 266.
