RAM under performing?

I recently reformatted my computer but I still get a lot of lag in many applications (SMALL applications)

I have PC3200 DDR Dual Channel OCZ 512 RAM
Pentium 4 2.8 GHZ

I'm pretty sure there is no Virus or Adware in my computer since I reformatted and ran many anti-virus programs.

This computer is about 1 and a half years old.

Do you think my RAM has gone bad?

(PS. I see Red light very often now and my system makes small noises)

What red light ? the HD working light? hit ctl+alt+delete and see how much free ram you have and what the cpu useage is , Somthing may be working in the background sucking up all your resources. If your seeing your hd light constantly working then somthing is going on you dont know about .

Yes the H.D.D working light.
CPU usage is @ 0-5% most of the time.
The H.D.D working light isn't constantly on anymore but I see a lot of lag when exiting games, opening applications, and such. Not big programs either, programs like Internet Explorer or Microsoft Word.

Is there a chance my RAM has gone bad?
