Hehe..yea a fan with out a monitoring cable will normally just use he black and yellow (12v) from a 4pin molex . Some fans will have a motherboard connector (3pin) if they are low powered as some fans give the motherboard too much strain from drawing too much power. The other thing is a fan with a molex and rpm (3pin) cable like i mentioned 2 posts above-
A molex has pin1-5v pin2-Ground pin3-Ground pin4-12v
For a normal fan you only use pin3-Ground & pin4-12v The Rpm monitoring cable is seperate and normally just plugs in you motherboard
