Thanks, I really do appreciate how helpful everyone is!
My Gigabit (PCI Card) is: PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_10D3&SUBSYS_A01F8086&REV_00
My motherboard card is: PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_15A1&SUBSYS_15A11849&REV_05
Went to site (before I disable the drivers, or I would think I"d have no internet acess..) and only by searching the "8086&DEV" string could I get anything, but the list that came up had nothing (in the Intel section) of the whole thing (ie. the "_10D3&SUBSYS_" or "_15A1&SUBSYS_"
I checked my driver (focusing on the Gigabit PCI card) and it is a Microsfot driver version 12.12.50.6 date March 2015 (before Win 10 even came out?).
Went to Intel. Wasn't sure the version of Gigabit (using the drop down menus it has several "Gigabit" devices) so I searched under drivers for "gigabit" and downloaded the "LAN: Intel® Gigabit Ethernet Controller driver for Intel® NUC" (
Link for Wind 10, 64-bit. then unistalled my drivers and ran the download. Driver version/date is still the same (and says Microsoft, rather than Intel).
I'm downloading the "Driver Update Utility Installer" from Intel, but tried that before and it did not find ANY intel devices, but I'll try it again.
On the Intel download site
link I put in "1.) ethernet Comonents, 2.) Ethernet Controller" and in the 3.) dropdown I have a bunch of "Gigabits" such as "Intel 82540 Gigabit ehternet controller" or "Intel 82541 Gigabit Ethernet Controller". How can I find out which is mine? (tried "properties" on device manager and can't seem to find any similar number)
