want to build a new pc but unsure what processor to use?

hi i new to all this and i wanted to build a new pc. i not sure wether to use a AMD 64 or a AMD XP and over clock. also which socket should i go for?

It depends on your budget, but the socket 939 with AMD 64 is the best way to go.
