Laptop builds

Hi all, I'm new here and hoping for some advice.

I'm looking to buy a laptop to take to uni. I don't need it for anything particularly heavy but I do like having lots of tabs open, programs running etc. I spend quite a lot of time on Youtube and do the odd bit of digital artwork. Ideally I'd like to be able some games on it, but not anything too recent or stunning like Battlefield 3. So basically I'm not doing anything professional but I am quite an intensive casual user that spends quite a while on their computer.

I've found a pretty cheap site that does custom builds. You start out with a standard build then change a few bits around. However I'm not exactly an expert at this stuff and don't want to end up wasting money.

I've been looking at this model: PCSPECIALIST - GenesisIV Laptops, GenesisIV Gaming Laptops, Build Your Own GenesisIV Laptop
So far I feel I should up the processor to at least an i3, apparently Pentiums are pretty behind the times. I've got a 180 gig SSD selected and the RAM bumped to 4GB of 1333Hz. If I want to move up to 1600Hz RAM then I need one of the nvidia GPUs Is that worth it? I don't really know what the balance is between CPU/RAM/HD and GPU.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
